We have just introduced functionality to allow existing hosting customers to switch their website to the latest 5.3 branch of PHP at the click of a button. Many users will have developed their website utilising PHP 5.2 or earlier and for this reason we continue to offer this version as a legacy release for backwards compatibility. However we recommend customers take advantage of the new functionality to switch to PHP 5.3 if their website is compatible. Most recently released software will be compatible including Jooomla 1.6+, Drupal 6.14+ and Wordpress 3+

Sites running with PHP 5.2 will continue to function as per normal using the legacy PHP 5.2 handler though we recommend switching to PHP 5.3 branch for best performance and reliability if your website is 5.3 compatible.

Note: By default all new hosting deployments will utilise PHP 5.3
